FAQ

Straight answers. No BS.

Everything you need to know before you upload your first track.

General
What is RavenBlack Audio?

RavenBlack Audio is an on-demand mastering service built for producers, composers, and publishers who need top tier, sync-ready masters fast. Injected through a real master chain, hand crafted and perfected over years to provide a consistent signature polish.

How does it work?

Upload your pre-master through an encrypted gateway and it is picked up to flow through the mastering chain. The process and finished master is downloadable and able to be listened to immediately through the web portal. An email is also sent to let you know when your track is ready.

Can I try it before I subscribe?

Yes. Drop a track through the free preview portal — no signup required. A watermarked preview is available in under two minutes, so you can hear exactly what the mastering chain does to your track before committing to a plan.

How long does a master take to finish?

Typically a few minutes or less. Zip files can take longer depending on file size.

What formats do you accept, and what do I get back?

Upload WAV, MP3, or AIFF. Zip files support uploads up to 1.5GB per track.

Every finished master is delivered as both a 24-bit WAV and a 24-bit AIFF, at 48 kHz. You pick which one to download in the portal — and you can take both, at no extra cost and with nothing to decide up front. Masters are produced at 48 kHz whatever your source rate, so a 44.1 kHz upload comes back at 48 kHz. Stems submitted as a zip come back as a single archive.

Is this AI mastering?

No. Every master runs through a 100% real mastering chain that has been crafted and used on actual AAA placements.

Pricing & Plans
What plans are available?

Producer is currently available as a Founding Membership for $99/month (two months free on annual billing) and includes unlimited 24/7 on-demand mastering.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard, and cancellation stops future billing immediately. Canceling does not automatically refund the current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. To request, email info@ravenblackaudio.com with your account details and the reason for your request.

Is there a limit on how many tracks I can master?

No — subscribed plans include unlimited 24/7 submissions. Upload your tracks, stems, and alternate versions to save time and sound premium.

Sync & Licensing
Will mastering with RavenBlack guarantee my track gets placed or licensed?

No. RavenBlack Audio is a mastering and audio processing service — there is no guarantee for sync placements, licensing deals, or any other outcome. Decisions about placement and licensing are made by third parties (music supervisors, publishers, sync agencies).

Is RavenBlack built specifically for sync and trailer music?

Yes — the service is designed for producers, composers and publishers submitting to sync licensing and trailer opportunities.

Can I safely use mastered tracks for music library exclusivity and brief pitching?

Yes. You keep 100% ownership and copyright of both your original file and the finished master. The licence to process it is temporary and non-exclusive — no distribution rights, no sublicensing, nothing that affects exclusivity with a library, agent, publisher or supervisor. Mastering is a service performed on your file, in the same way a mastering engineer would, and it creates no claim over the track. You choose how long masters are kept — up to a year, or deleted automatically within 48 hours — and any individual track can be deleted at any time.

Support
What if I'm not happy with my master?

Unlimited resubmissions are included with every subscription so you can keep refining the mix until it's right. Alternate sonic characters are also available to use, such as "Ultra Transparent".

How do I get help if I run into an issue?

Submit a ticket on the "Support" tab or reach out directly to info@ravenblackaudio.com at any time.
